Mission Statement : Partners in Reaching the Heart, Teaching the Mind
The whole child - Body, Mind and Spirit - are important aspects of a child’s development. From a spiritual perspective, PCS provides multiple opportunities for student growth.
- Daily Bible Instruction – At PCS every student, in every grade level, receives daily Bible instruction through Deep Roots Bible curriculum. This curriculum developed by Bible scholars teaches students at age-appropriate levels that the Bible is the Word of God. Through history, cultural literacy, language, and more it documents the history of the Hebrew people and the Messiah that came through their ancestors. Students memorize scripture weekly and hide God’s word in their hearts.
- Daily prayers – Students pray daily with their teachers and with each other. They learn to pray before sporting events, during chapels, and during flag ceremonies. They pray for their leaders and people in the community who have needs. Prayer is intentionally taught and practiced.
- Weekly Chapels – Once per week all students attend chapel. They sing songs, recite pledges, collect offerings for missionary schools, put on performances, and hear the gospel message through guest speakers and class presentations.
- Community Service – Students participate in community service in various ways. Some grade levels visit retirement homes, others feed the needy in our community, while some provide resources for Care Net ministry and more. Our middle school students are expected to individually volunteer in the community and document their experiences.
- Road to the Cross – During the Easter Season we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Through carefully developed stations actors present the events that took place the last week of Jesus’s life on earth. The crucifixion and resurrection are dramatically presented, and this has become a highlight for students each year.
- Christmas musical – Students in all grades present a Christmas musical to thousands of guests, over three nights in dramatic fashion with skits, songs, and carols. Together we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
- Morning Flag Ceremony provides opportunity to begin each day with prayer, pledges to the Christian Flag, Bible and American Flag, helping everyone to develop a national and Christian identity.
- Hume Lake Science Camp is a week-long camp available for all sixth-grade students to explore science through the lens of the Bible. This trip has been life changing for many PCS students.
- Christian Counseling is available to help students navigate their way through challenging situations that life presents. Spiritual strength and insights help students to understand we wrestle not with flesh and blood but against spiritual wickedness in high places.
