Every year, PCS participates in special scholastic events that enhance our curriculum.

"Walk-Through" programs help students understand California History, the American Revolution and the Ancient World.
4th Grade California History Day – Students participate in a day in the life of an 1848 settler, complete with period dress and fort activities. Click Here for Newspaper Article!
In addition, we also engage our students in interactive field trips:
Competitive Events:
- Math Olympics – students compete against other schools throughout the Central Coast
- Speech Meet – classroom and then schoolwide competitions take place
- Spelling Bee – students compete against other schools throughout the Central Coast
- Robotics – Middle school also has a First Lego League Robotics team that competes in the region

- 4th grade – Overnight trip to visit missions and the Roaring Camps Historic Railroad in the Santa Cruz mountains.
- 5th grade – Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum
- 6th grade – Science Camp at Hume Lake
- 8th grade – Washington DC; Monticello, and Williamsburg, Virginia; Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
