Every year, PCS participates in special scholastic events that enhance our curriculum.

"Walk-Through" programs help students understand California History, the American Revolution and the Ancient World
4th Grade California History Day – Students participate in a day in the life of an 1848 settler, complete with period dress and fort activities
In addition, we also engage our students in interactive field trips:
Competitive Events:
- Math Olympics – students compete against other schools throughout the Central Coast
- Speech Meet – classroom and then schoolwide competitions take place
- Spelling Bee – students compete against other schools throughout the Central Coast
- Robotics – Middle school also has a First Lego League Robotics team that competes in the region

- 4th grade – Overnight trip to visit missions and the Roaring Camps Historic Railroad in the Santa Cruz mountains
- 5th grade – Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum
- 6th grade – Science Camp at Hume Lake
- 8th grade – Washington DC; Monticello, and Williamsburg, Virginia; Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
